VAT Reform in the UK and EU Countries

Effective 1 January 2021, the UK’s Value Added Tax (VAT) reform had abolished the VAT exemption for imports into the UK with an intrinsic value up to 15 pounds and change to tax from 0 pound, that is, goods with a declared value of more than 0 pound will be subject to VAT. 1. For parcels using IOSS services, do not support modify the total declared value after the parcel is submitted. If you need to modify the value, please cancel the parcel and submit it again.
2. For parcels using IOSS services, the minimum declared value will be limited to 30% of the goods value in the parcel, and the maximum declared value will depend on different routes.
3. The IOSS services simplifies the tax collection process, accelerates customs clearance, and improves customs clearance efficiency. However, it does not guarantee that the customs clearance time of your parcel will be shortened. For details, please refer to the operation time of the local customs.
4. Mulebuy will pay the tax on your behalf if your parcel uses IOSS services. However, it does not guarantee that your parcel will not be taxed once again by the local customs. If you encounter this situation, Mulebuy recommends that you cooperate with the local customs to clear the customs again and pay the tax.
